#733: The Dead Don't Die / Joe Talbot & Jimmie Fails ("The Last Black Man...") / Rocketman
Jim Jarmusch brings his trademark dead pan to the living dead.
Jim Jarmusch has made a surreal, existential western ("Dead Man"), a Zen samurai/mobster movie ("Ghost Dog") and a meditation on art disguised as a vampire movie ("Only Lovers Left Alive"). And now... zombies. With his new THE DEAD DON'T DIE, Jarmusch again exploits genre conventions as a means to explore his fears and obsessions. And this time, those fears and obsessions are pretty explicitly America in the age of Trump.
Also on the show, a conversation with Joe Talbot and Jimmie Fails, the director and star of Sundance award-winner – and early Golden Brick frontrunner – THE LAST BLACK MAN IN SAN FRANCISCO. Plus, Adam weighs in on ROCKETMAN.
